What is PREP ?

Homeschooling parents want to provide the very best in education for their children. There are times when we all could benefit from assistance in one subject area or another. PREP classes have excellent teachers in subject areas that families often find difficult to teach at home. PREP teachers supply the expertise that many teaching parents need to support their family's homeschooling endeavors.

PREP classes are a great transition from home to college. PREP classes offer a classroom experience that is positive, while maintaining high academic standards. PREP classes were developed by homeschoolers, for homeschoolers. We carefully listen to parent feedback, with the goal of offering a program that will meet your family's needs. With PREP you choose only those classes that are right for your student.

Mission:

Our mission is to bring parents and teachers together offering excellence-driven, Christ-centered classes for home schooling families.

What are PREP Classes?:

PREP Classes bring homeschooling parents and Christian teachers together to provide a positive and challenging classroom experience for homeschooling students. This unique arrangement allows families to choose a classroom experience for one subject or more depending on their own needs and desires. For children in the earlier grades, they provide an opportunity to interact with other students and teachers while receiving sound instruction in one or more subject areas, always with the goal in mind of preparing those students for future learning.

For older students PREP Classes are a wonderful bridge to higher education. College preparedness is our stated goal. Standards of both behavior and academics are kept high. PREP Classes are not a private school. Parents, students, and teachers partner together as they work through the academic year, each fulfilling their role in the education process. Each teacher will have their own specific guidelines as to how they conduct their class and what role parents and students are to play as a part of the class. Below is a general idea of the role of PREP teachers, students, and parents.

* Teachers provide instruction over new material, give assignments, and evaluate performance. They are available during the week when parents or students have questions. Each teacher will have some method they designate for questions (email, phone, after class, etc.)

* Students follow instructions, participate in class, & work with their parents to complete assignments at home (this is the majority of their work). They should contact the teacher if they have questions about an assignment or the class in general.

* Parents oversee their students' work during the week, provide assistance where necessary, and ensure that their student is prepared for class. Parents should contact the teacher if they have questions about how to assist their student, or about their child's overall performance.
